The Shimano Baitrunner is built with a second and completely independent drag, allowing you to fish live bait more productively. To operate the Baitrunner reel, just flip the lever to "baitrunner on" and the reel is in tension-controlled free spool. This means that you can now free spool bait to a feeding fish...let him take it and run with it...All with the bail closed. To engage the Shimano Baitrunner’s primary fighting drag, simply turn the handle. The Shimano Baitrunner will flip to the "drag on" position automatically.
